The Decision to go with an S&S Gear Drive

It is an acknowledge fact that the patented S&S gear drive gives the accuracy required in a high performance engine. An S&S gear drive would free up horsepower and bullet proof the cam drive. It reduces friction, has fewer parts and is less complicated than a conventional chain drive.

S&S Gear Drive for gear driven cams

There is a useful clear explanation of installing a S&S gear driven cam at HarleyHog.co.uk

To ensure better scavenging of oil and generally reduce oil temperature it was decided to add a Feuling Super Pump. At the time of purchase only Feuling offer a performance pump for twin cam HD motors.

Having chosen gear drive it was now time for choosing the cam.
